Embassy of Jordan

Jordan, an Arab Kingdom that lies in the heart of the Middle East at the crossroads between Asia, Europe and Africa, with a land area of 90,000 sq. km and a population of 4.5 million. Lacking natural resources and water, Jordan has since independence on May 25, 1946 invested in its perpetual, true wealth: the human resource, a rather unconventional investment that has evidently proved worthwhile. Today, Jordan enjoys one of its region’s highest economic growth levels, characterized by political stability and market economy, and characterized by a literacy rate of 85% (4500 schools and 19 universities) and an advanced medical care (15.2 physicians and 17.4 hospital beds per 10,000 persons).

A Brief about Jordan's History & Politics:

·       Internal politics: based on the constitution, the principles of democracy and rule of law, and separation of power between the three authorities: the executive (The government) the legislative ( parliament: elected House of Deputies – and an appointed House of senates) and the judiciary (courts of law are guaranteed sovereignty by constitution.)
