Consular services in diplomatic and consular missions, in world over, are established mainly to look after the interests of all nationals and citizens of the mother state. In order to enable consular missions to perform their tasks and duties of serving the communities of nationals in foreign countries, missions need to know how to contact, and the where about of members of the community. Having the contact numbers and addresses will ease the task of contacting them in case of emergencies. Emergency cases vary from natural disasters, political disorder to threats on properties, well-being or lives of the nationals of the state. Therefore, all nationals reside in foreign countries are obliged to report their addresses and contact numbers to consular or diplomatic missions representing their mother state.

Jordanian Embassy in Malaysia was not established only to cement and strengthen brotherly relations between Jordan and Malaysia, but also to ensure and safeguard the interests of Jordanian citizens. The Jordanian Embassies and consular services were created to serve the interests of Jordanians, and they are requested to call the embassy in case of emergency. Thereupon, Jordanian citizens are advised to register their names and addresses with the consular section of this embassy.
